HISTORY OF THE CLUB

The Kenilworth Home and Garden Club was founded in 1923 and is an affiliate member of the Garden Clubs of Illinois, Inc.

In the club's 100 years of existence our goals have remained the same : the beautification of the community, philanthropic projects to help the community, preservation of our natural environment, and the promotion of horticultural education.

Our 60 plus members are a wonderful group of ladies who enjoy the educational and social aspects of the club.

The club and its members have undertaken many projects over the years to help with the beautification of the community.

Some of the projects have included:

Mahoney Park

Mahoney Park is not only a legacy but is near and dear to our hearts. We support the preservation work on Mahoney Park, landscaped by Jens Jensen in 1933, and listed on the register of National Historic Places.

We enjoy planting and maintaining the Maclean Avenue Triangle in West Kenilworth.

Presbyterian Home Memory Care Deck Planting

We provide winter holiday decorations for the residents in December and beautification of their memory care outdoor deck facility.

Prepare care packages for Sarah's circle, a local women's shelter.
